HISTORICAL CASE STUDY · 2024–2025
IRFĒ: Building Search Visibility Beyond the Brand
A fragrance search program combining editorial development, technical improvements and measurable audience growth.
16.8M search impressions. 265K search clicks. Captured in the selected May–December 2025 Search Console view. The wider 2024–2025 record connects that growth with individual articles, Discover performance and competitive search results.

The challenge: become discoverable before someone knows the name
A fragrance brand needs more than people searching for its name. Readers also arrive with questions about scent, longevity, occasions and the differences between products. Those searches can lead to a specialist brand, a retailer, a review site or a major publication.
The IRFĒ reports document work across that wider field: women’s perfume guides, fragrance notes and comparisons, followed by an expansion into men’s fragrances. The aim of the program was to develop the site’s search presence through useful editorial content and ongoing optimization, rather than depend on branded searches alone.
The evidence is concrete. Saved results show IRFĒ content appearing in the same search environments as Vogue, Cosmopolitan and Marie Claire. Search Console records substantial increases in clicks and impressions, and Google Analytics provides a separate view of audience acquisition.
The work behind the growth
Publish, review and improve the editorial catalog
The reports record a continuing publishing and revision program, not a single batch of pages left untouched. The June 2024 report lists 20 new long-form articles and updates to at least 10 existing pieces. The August 2025 report describes approximately 20 full article rewrites alongside new publications.
That distinction matters. Publishing creates additional entry points; revisiting existing work allows the program to respond to what readers are actually finding. The reports explicitly describe using Google performance when reviewing, editing and optimising previously published articles.
The September 2025 report records a further development: 19 new articles in the men’s fragrance segment and improvements to approximately 10 existing articles. This extended the subject coverage while continuing to work on established pages.
Keep the technical site in the program
The work was not limited to copy. The May and June 2025 reports document SEO checks and technical work following a change to a custom theme, including work on page-loading issues. The October report records removal of residual database data from previously removed plugins.
These are documented maintenance and implementation tasks. The reports also record off-site promotion and link-building activity alongside the on-site work. The results below therefore describe a combined program; they are not presented as the isolated effect of one rewrite, one technical fix or content alone.
Review results at the page and query level
Sitewide growth provides the overview. Individual pages and saved queries show where that growth was taking shape. The reporting follows both, with Search Console, Google Analytics and examples from the results themselves serving different purposes.
A much larger organic search footprint
The six-month comparison reproduced in the February 6, 2025 report is one of the clearest milestones:
| Google Search result | Previous six months | Last six months in the report |
|---|---|---|
| Clicks | 8.01K | 173K |
| Impressions | 631K | 10.8M |
| Average CTR | 1.3% | 1.6% |
That is approximately 21.6 times as many clicks and 17.1 times as many impressions, calculated from the rounded values shown in Search Console. The comparison starts with an established but much smaller search footprint.

The headline 2025 graph tells a complementary story. It shows daily search clicks and impressions rising through the selected period, with particularly strong growth toward the end of the view. Its 265K clicks and 16.8M impressions capture the scale reached across that selected reporting window.
Continued growth, captured by Search Console Insights
The September 6, 2025 report includes a directly labeled Insights comparison for the last three months:
76.5K clicks, up 80%. 5.79M impressions, up 65%.

This later comparison shows the program continuing to develop beyond the earlier six-month milestone.
The editorial pages doing the work
The content table reproduced in the same September report makes the growth tangible. It records 36.4K clicks for the women’s top-perfumes guide, with a displayed increase of 1,509%, and 13.2K clicks for the women’s sexy-perfumes guide, up 1,592%.
Other visible entries cover long-lasting perfumes, musk perfumes and expensive perfumes. The picture is not of one isolated topic: several related editorial pages were attracting search readers.

Google Analytics offers a second perspective. The August 6, 2025 report includes 31K new users attributed to Organic Search, up 212% in its acquisition view. Search visibility was accompanied by an expanding audience arriving at the website.

Google Discover added a separate audience
Discover was another substantial source of reach. In the six-month comparison reproduced in the February 6, 2025 report, Discover recorded 219K clicks and 2.73M impressions, compared with 14.7K clicks and 198K impressions in the previous six-month window.
The displayed CTR rose from 7.4% to 8%. Calculated from the rounded source values, clicks were approximately 14.9 times the previous comparison period.

For this case, the important point is the additional distribution achieved by the editorial work. Search and Discover are different reporting surfaces, and the evidence remains separated accordingly.
Competing in results with established publishers
Above Vogue in a saved long-lasting-fragrance result
A screenshot in the June 6, 2024 report shows an IRFĒ article above Vogue, Fragrantica and CNN for the visible query “long lasting top 10 female fragrance.”

Two IRFĒ articles ahead of Cosmopolitan and Marie Claire
The September 6, 2025 report preserves a different example. For “vanilla perfume,” two IRFĒ articles appear before Cosmopolitan and Marie Claire within the visible Reviews section.

Together, these examples give the totals context: IRFĒ’s editorial pages were becoming visible in competitive fragrance discovery, beside established names readers already recognized.
An early appearance in AI-powered discovery
The archive also contains a Google AI Mode result for “vanilla perfume” with an IRFĒ article included in the source panel. This connects the search-growth case to a further discovery format using a real saved example, rather than a hypothetical mock-up.

The brand’s editorial material was therefore reaching beyond conventional results into an AI search experience during the documented growth period. The source-panel capture records that inclusion directly.
What this case demonstrates
IRFĒ’s reporting shows a developing editorial search presence at several levels: a much larger organic footprint, later increases in Insights, substantial traffic to individual fragrance guides, a separate Discover audience and saved appearances in competitive and AI-generated results.
The work described in the reports combines content production, revision, technical maintenance and off-site activity. The transferable lesson is a working method: build useful subject coverage, revisit existing pages using evidence, maintain the site and keep the reporting specific enough to show where progress is occurring.
For an ecommerce brand, those entry points create opportunities to introduce the brand before a visitor searches for it by name. The next business question is what those visitors do afterwards. This case documents visibility and audience acquisition; it does not assign revenue, orders or conversion lift where the supplied evidence does not do so.
Evidence and reporting notes
The sources are the owner-supplied Google Search Console screenshot and IRFĒ’s monthly SEO reports. This case selects the documented 2024–2025 growth phase; it is not a statement of current performance. The reports were dated from June 2024 through December 2025, while individual screenshots use their own rolling or custom windows.
Search, Discover and Analytics measurements are kept separate. Reporting windows overlap, so their totals must not be added together. Multipliers use rounded screenshot values and are therefore approximate. Original screenshots retain their labels and historic annotations. Search-result examples document the captured query and surface only. The AI image is labeled AI Mode in its interface, although the original report calls it AI Overview; this case follows the visible interface. Analytics acquisition is presented as new users, not sales or revenue.
